European Community Member of the Hague Agreement on International Designs

On 1st of January, the Geneva Act of the Hague Agreement, which establishes a system for the international registration of industrial designs, entered into force for the European Community. From now on, applicants will be able to use a single application to obtain protection of a design not only in the EU with the Community Design, but also in the countries that are member states of the Geneva Act.

This will lead to simplifications in procedures and administration and to a cost reduction for international protection.
