The agreement on the extension of European Patents signed on February 13, 2009 between the European Patent Organization and Montenegro will enter into force as from 1st March 2010.

Consequently, from that date, it will be possible to extend to Montenegro the protection conferred by European patent applications and patents. Extension to Montenegro will apply to any European and international patent application filed on or after 1st March 2010 on request. It will not be available for applications filed prior to that date, or for any European patents resulting from such applications.
