According to an article of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (German Newspaper) of November 2, 2006, the European Commission wants to make a new attempt towards the realization of the EU-Community-Patent.
The basis for it shall be a new compromise, according to which the future Community-Patent only has to be presented in English. Only the claims shall still be filed in German, English and French. However, in order to enforce the claims in infringement proceedings, a translation into the language of the alleged infringer should become a pre-condition.
Furthermore, a standardized regulation for conflict-cases shall be introduced.
