The chief justice of the Senate Intellectual Property Rights Trial Chamber of the Supreme People's Court of China has informed us in a personal message that according to his experience 90% of infringement cases which have been filed by foreign companies in China and which are decided by the Supreme Court are won.

According to the No1 middle court in Beijing, which is the responsible court of first instance concerning intellectual property rights, the success rate of first instance proceedings is approximately 60%.

After the Protection System for patents, trademark and designs, which has been existing for about twenty years in China, has reached a standard which corresponds to the one of European Protection Systems, the enforcement of rights is improving almost daily and could meanwhile even reach an inviting level for foreign enterprises.
